Forensic Services for Attorneys

Digital Evidence Associates has the tools and experience to help in all your legal matters. All DEA analysts are EnCE certified forensic investigators, and have the expertise and knowledge to help get at important evidence that you may not even know existed.

For any legal matters involving digital data, forensic imaging of hard drives should be routine at the onset of your case. Our certified forensic investigators have the proper tools and training to acquire and secure the proper data, and ensure that all evidence retrieved will be admissible in court.

Keep in mind that Forensic Imaging is not the same as just making a backup copy of a hard drive; while your IT people are very good at what they do, they are not trained in proper forensic techniques, and any copy made internally will most likely not be admissible in court. Computer forensics experts recover the evidence and maintain a strict chain of custody to ensure that the evidence is preserved in its original form. Furthermore, forensic images are verified using a precise mathematical algorithm, guaranteeing that the copy and the original are identical to each other and verifying against tampering/spoliation.

DEA can also meet the needs of your Electronic Discovery requirements. Our experts know the planning and processes needed to collect, de-duplicate, and analyze important company data in order to present the documents that are only relevant to your case. Forensic images can be required of your client's computers as a one-stop way to comply with a preservation order, or you may need to secure forensic images of computers on the other side. Either way, DEA's experts can help you determine what you need and the most efficient way to go about collecting it.
